NC State Fair...

Last weekend, we went with a group of our Duke friends, along with Hillary and her boyfriend Graham, to the North Carolina State Fair.  We enjoyed going last year and since it's just down the road from our house, we decided to go again this year.  Our dear friend, Jen, got us tickets and we were able to take in the sights and smells of fried food and random people.

Peter and Graham, enjoying their fried macaroni and cheese...

I have to admit that the fried macaroni and cheese was amazing...Pete and Graham's faces say it all.  :)

Peter wanted to win Henry a stuffed animal...after his best effort, he sadly went away empty handed.  :)

Henry was asleep in his stroller most of the night.  Upon waking up (after falling asleep in his quiet, familiar bedroom), his world was bombarded with lights, noise and people.  Needless to say, he wasn't a fan...poor guy.

It took awhile, but he finally calmed down...I had to put him back in the stroller and shield him away from all the sights and sounds (thanks for the suggestion, Natalie!) and he was MUCH better.

All in all, we had a great time and it was SO good to get out...

Hillary and Graham Visit.

My youngest sister, Hillary, and her boyfriend Graham came to visit last weekend.  They are both seniors at Taylor University and they gave up their fall break to drive down and see us.  Hillary hadn't had the chance to meet Henry yet, so it was particularly special.  It was an extremely relaxing weekend, full of talking, watching movies, and showing them our favorite places and people.  And of course, we had another family photo session...

Is my son signing "I love you??"  He's SO smart...

Here are some other random shots from the weekend, particularly of Henry...

Graham, Graham's parents, and Hillary bought a present (an adorable stuffed Rhino from Jellycat) for Henry and Henry's reaction was priceless.

Thanks for coming, guys (I'm sure there were MUCH more exciting things to do)...it was SUCH a great visit and we can't wait to see you for Thanksgiving.  :)

Time with Grandpa and Grandma Von Tobel

Henry and I got to spend a couple of days with just Grandpa and Grandma Von Tobel the last few days in Florida.  They were gracious enough to give me some extra hours of sleep in the morning, taking Henry when he woke up.  They also gladly watched him while I spent some time by the pool.  Grandpa even watched him while Candy and I got our nails done.  :)  Henry just lit up when they were around and he loves them so much!

Thank you Paul and Candy for the amazing two weeks!  We had the best time and I'm so thankful to have you as in-laws.  Can't wait to see you at Thanksgiving.  :)
