Halloween 2012

I didn't think it would actually happen this year.   Up until the moment we were going to leave, Henry didn't want anything to do with his bear costume.  I had tried a number of times to have him try it on, but he would just shake his head and run away.  It must have been daddy's influence and coaxing...but either way, we were glad he put it on.  He was the cutest bear around...

There was a little hesitation at first...didn't know what to think of all these strange people offering him candy.  But by the end, he was grabbing by the handful and we had to hold him back.  :)

He did get quite a bit of candy...his cuteness helped.  But it was hilarious to watch him handle all the brightly colored packages.  He had no idea the goodness that was inside each and every one.  :)

Body Parts...

So we're learning our body parts and Henry was in a cooperative mood while I tried taping this video.

**Please excuse my horrible grammar.  I almost didn't post this due to my singular vs. plural mistakes, but it's the best video I have of Henry pointing these things out.
***And don't mind the pregnant belly.  Geesh!  Wish that wasn't in there either!

Saturday Morning Fun...

I've recently started doing some Stroller Strides classes near our home.  It's basically a bunch of moms, with their children in tow, exercising and trying to keep in shape.  I've loved it and love having the accountability to keep in shape again this pregnancy (thanks Missy!).

This last weekend, we had a Saturday class at an outdoor mall that was hosting a farmer's market in the common's area.  There was live music, crafts, and a place for the kids to play.  It was a gorgeous morning and fun to get out of the house.  :)

Hello Little One...

We found out today that we were having another boy.  I had thought this entire pregnancy that the little guy was in fact a boy, so when the ultrasound technician said it aloud, I almost laughed.  As much as I would love a little girl "one day," I keep smiling while thinking about the sweet little miracle growing inside of me.  Henry's going to have a little brother...a playmate for life.  I've been envisioning wrestling matches on the living room floor, forts in their room, and Henry's protective arm around the little guy when he's upset.  Nothing in the world would make me happier than to see my two boys playing together and loving each other.

I keep imagining what he'll look like...what his personality will be like...what kinds of things will he love to do.  I pray for his little heart and that it would grow to love Jesus.  That he would have a compassion for others and the heart of a servant.  I can't wait to see his little spirit grow and develop into the man he's going to become.

The picture below is on our refrigerator and I find myself saying hello to his beautiful face everyday.  By now he's starting to hear my voice and I'm feeling him more and more.  For the time being, he's just mine.  Oh, there will be a time when I'll have to share him with others and he'll probably want nothing to do with me.  But until then, he's all mine and I love having him so close.  I hope he knows how loved he is and how much he's going to make our family feel even more complete.

In the meantime, "hello, little one.  Mama loves you."

15 Month Doctor's Visit...

I remember when Henry would just sit in my arms while waiting for the doctor to arrive  in the office.  These days, he's all over the place.  Moving chairs around, climbing on most everything he sees and pulling out things he shouldn't be touching.  Good thing he's pretty cute in that little gown.  :)
