Growing...

I was looking through pictures the other day and found these.  Can't believe how much he's growing...

Or what about this?

His 3 month pictures are coming soon...

Some family photos...

So when my sister Holly was visiting a while back, we had a little photo session with Henry.  Wanted to snap a few with all three of us.  Henry was in a good mood, the lighting was perfect, so we went for it.  They turned out pretty well and Henry even smiled for a couple!  :)

Henry and Ella...

So Henry has a little friend named Ella.  She's the daughter of our good friends, Shaun and Laura Horrigan.  Henry and Ella get to hang out every Monday night when we get together with our Duke friends.  Ella recently celebrated her 1/2 birthday and we went to celebrate with her.  Henry had a great time, but by the time the party was over, both Henry AND Ella were conked out!

Ella's mom, Laura, and Ella's auntie Jen, snapped some cute pictures of the day and sent them to me.

The birthday girl had a long day!  :)

Dinner Out

So Henry's made it a little more difficult when we want to go out for dinner the last couple of weeks.  He usually falls asleep in the car, but as soon as we stop moving, his eyes pop open and he's awake (and usually a tad bit crabby).  Peter says he takes after his mom - he's a light sleeper and always wants to know what's going on.  He's constantly wanting to stand these days and is really working his leg muscles.  And ALWAYS moving...

And....he's out!  :)

Holly came to visit...

We had quite the surprise over a week ago.  My sister Holly was in Baltimore for a wedding and since she was on the East Coast, she asked if she could stay the week (um...yes, please!).  She changed her return flight to go out of Raleigh and I picked her up in Baltimore.  I was a little worried about the hurricane coming through, but by Sunday it had pretty much cleared out and we just saw its remnants.

During the week, we had a great time doing a whole lot of nothing.  She helped me run some errands, went grocery shopping, and kept me company while Peter was working....everything that takes so much longer to do these days and is so much more helpful with another person.  I've really been trying to not get intimidated in going out and tackling everyday things, but they are more "events" these days, rather than just quick trips.

Of course she also loved on Henry...

She helped with a couple bath times...Henry LOVES baths.  He started doing more kicking and splashing while she was there.  Now he doesn't like getting out of the bath...and just screams when it's over.  :(

And of course she couldn't get enough of those cheeks.  I have to admit... I can't count how many times I kiss those cheeks everyday.  :)

Hols, thanks for coming.  Miss you already.

Boston...

For the last few years, Peter and I have traveled to Boston to meet up with Peter's parents and brother's family on Labor Day weekend.  We go to the PGA Tour Deutsche Bank Championship and take in the sights of Boston.  It is admittedly Peter's favorite weekend of the year.  He is like a kid in a candy shop seeing all the golfers and experiencing things up close.  But we also love spending time with the family.

My niece, Mia, lives in Chicago and I don't get to see her very often.  She's my little buddy... :)

Grandma loved spending time with her grandbabies...and Henry loved spending time with her, too.

Can't wait to spend some more time with the WHOLE Von Tobel family in October.  :)

First plane flight...

Henry took his first plane flight Labor Day weekend.  Can't lie that we were a little nervous about how things were going to go.  I usually pride myself at how light I can travel...but I can't boast that any longer.  With the car seat, stroller, diaper bag...there is lot more involved with traveling these days.  Henry did amazing - cried a bit while we were taking off, but slept the rest of the way.  He's getting HEAVY these days and my arm and leg definitely fell asleep, but was happy to have a sleeping child.

More to come about our trip to Boston...
